Pushkar Camel Festival

It possible to buy a decent camel for approximately $500 in India, and the no best place of the there to make a choice than with the festival of camel of Pushkar.

The Indians refer to a fair or a festival like ‘mela’. However, the words more probably with being in the forefront of a spirit’of the Westerner S are mutilation and madness. A perfect example of this is the largest’camel of the world S right, held each year in Pushkar during the Hindu lunar month of Kartika (which falls usually formerly in November).

The population of Pushkar is normally of the 15.000 relatively tiny people. However this bursts more with 200.000 people and 50.000 camels during the festival. Currently, the camels and their owners arrive of all the directions and take the residence in tents dispatch in the close desert. They’about accompanied by the many visiting Indian families which camp outside by chance in the open one at the edge of the city.

The legend of Pushkar
Pushkar is an idyllic city in the medium of the desert of Ràjasthàn d’ India . It full with the bleached buildings, and is surrounded by hills on three sides and sand dunes of the other. The principal characteristic of Pushkar is its lake. According to the Hindu legend, it was made starting from a flower of lotus dropped by lord Brahma, the creator, by seeking a place to carry out a holy ritual one night of full moon.

The pelerins which bathe in water’of the lake S believe that they will be freed from their sins. The four days between Kartika Shukla Ekadashi (the eleventh day of Kartika) and Kartika Purnima (the full moon of Kartika) are looked as being most favourable. It is said that those which bathe the day of full moon receive special blessings. The major part of the action of camel takes place honestly above the 5 days bringing to the official beginning of the camel on Kartika Shukla Ekadashi, after which above the shifts of hearth to the intensified religious celebrations.

Arriving in Pushkar
Arrival in Pushkar is either by taxi or heaving, dilapidated local bus from Ajmer – 11 kilometres away through the hills. Eager luggage-wallahs immediately assail disembarking tourists and quickly load their bags on to hand drawn carts, which they proceed to pull through the mazes of dusty winding streets to a motley assortment of hotels. Meanwhile, luggage owners follow behind in a daze, absorbed by the sight around them.

The streets are lined with mobile chai (tea) vendors, and hawkers selling everything from clothes and jewellery to decorative items and handicrafts. Everywhere is a dazzling display of brightly coloured turbans, scarves and sarees worn by the Indian people for the festive occasion. One can’t help but be mesmerised.

What to See at the Camel Festival
The scene of the camel fair is just as striking. The sand dunes appeared infested with camels as far as the eyes can see. These camels are dressed up, paraded, entered into beauty contests, raced, and of course traded. Some camels even have their hair shaved into patterns to help them stand out from the rest. Along with these peculiar and amusing activities, the crowds are entertained well into each evening by an array of musicians, magicians, dancers, acrobats, snake charmers and carousel rides. Anyone game enough to get close to the centre of these activities runs the risk of being suddenly pulled into the fanfare, encouraged by the frenzied clapping, singing and musical melodies of the other participants.

The Pushkar camel fair provides a fascinating insight into Indian culture and way of life, and will leave a deep imprint in your memory. It’s likely that you’ll return to you hotel room feeling quite overwhelmed but captivated by what you’ve seen and experienced. As you lay on your bed, in the distance you may be able to faintly hear chanting and the ringing of bells that accompany the ancient religious ceremonies, and you’ll know that you’re in the midst of something very special.

Kaya Kalp Royal SPA at Hotel ITC Mughal Agra

In the city of the Taj, Mughal magnificence will soon find a new meaning. For, nearing completion at ITC’s 36-acre hotel, ITC Mughal, is Kaya Kalp – The Royal Spa.Stretching across an area covering more than 99,000 square feet, guests visiting the spa, will have the opportunity of experiencing traditional therapies in regal surroundings. The spa has been designed to bring together elements of Mughal architecture and opulence, with meaningful experiences for the soul.

This splendid oasis of tranquility, follows the tradition of Mughal in its wide use of the greenery and water, the two elements major in the gardens presented by the dynasty of Mughal. It was Babar, the first emperor of Mughal, which introduced into India its concept of the gardens, with channels of running water, fountains, flowers scented and trees of bearing of fruit – often indicated under the name of ‘Gardens
paradise ‘. starting with the places which it water was rare, of the channels of water were created and all the perfume of the fruit trees and of the birdsong of flowering, were the major elements of this ‘Firdaus ‘, which in the Persan ‘paradise of means ‘.

By conceiving Kaya Kalp – the royal thermal spa, Delhi based the architect and the originator of landscape, Pradeep Sachdeva carried out a narrow synthesis between the outer spaces of interior and, accentuating many influences of the installation and the architecture of Mughal. The draughtsmen of interiors are design of M/S P49 and associated of Bankok. The concept of Mughal of the ‘paradise ‘ is seen in the use stretch of water current, fountains, the showers external of rainwater, run completely of the open greenery of skies and the interiors embellished with the stone latticework, the mother of the pearl, marquetry and the mirror function. A visit at the thermal spa can be considered a voyage by a world of majestic luxury and to cherish – fabulous India that the travellers of through the seas, wrote approximately in their memories. In the greeting with the emperor of Mughal, Babar, the fruit of grenade was adapted like topic (reason for liet) of this very majestic thermal spa. It it is largely believed that Babar, was responsible to bring a large variety of fruit, including the ‘pomegranate ‘ in India of his ground at the house, Ferghana.

At Kaya Kalp, the red red grenades are a major element of design, used on walls, the ceiling and on the white floor of ground of mosaic – which offers a dramatic red machinée stone marquetry, invading the floor the mood of Mughal is intensified to the 25 in the open air – swimming pool of covering of meter, surrounded by sectors of relieving. Place in a garden of the trees of fruit-bearing, green lawns and flowers, it is where treatments of poolside of speciality will be offered like coolings and snacks – in agreement with the mood of the spa.It is important to consider that India was one of only 12 countries in the whole world to gain the first reward of Aga Khan, instituted in 1980. At this period in time, the ITC Mughal was selected for the reward “to carry out successfully the uniformity with the historical context.” The committee of the award described the hotel as “an expression of the culture and rich architectural tradition of the area with an entirely contemporary vocabulary of the forms.” With the addition of the thermal spa, a new whole dimension was added to the architecture of the hotel – which was inspired by the use of space to the ‘Fatehpur Sikri ‘, the abandoned city built by Mughal Emperor, Akbar. Inkeeping with the environment of the hotel , Kaya Kalp – the royal thermal spa, is added to the mood of Mughal by a detailed attention to detail, while maintaining its idiom contemporary.

Agra, the city of the most famous destination of tourists of Taj Mahal and India , comes now to you with a new prospect and what can be considered, an alive experiment of ‘has paradise ‘. r3fléchissant of the imperial dynasty whose opulence and glory held the world in fear, the environment of resource of the part of ITC – Mughal of the higher collection ‘Luxury ‘ of the mark of Starwood – is now increased with the addition of ninety thousand square feet of luxury.
